Being a poet can be both a rewarding and an arduous experience. That feeling of pure ecstasy when an editor accepts your poem is hard to match. But behind every published poem, there are countless hours of crafting, debating the best word choices, and battling frustration when inspiration runs dry. The process is a beautiful struggle.

I believe one of the best ways to ease the stress of writing is by fostering a sense of community among poets. We should collaborate more, share advice, and support each other on this creative journey. That’s exactly why I’ve created this blog.

Let me be clear: I’m not a professional poet. Writing is a hobby that I hope I won’t abandon, unlike some of my past pursuits. Getting my first poem published (shoutout to DJ, the editor) was a significant milestone for me.

Since art is highly subjective, I know my advice won’t resonate with everyone, and that’s okay. What I can promise is that these tips will be honest and practical, especially for those who feel lost at the beginning of their poetry journey.

So, buckle up! Pour yourself a cup of tea (or whatever fuels your creativity—perhaps from the legendary “writer’s cup,” although science has yet to confirm its magical properties). Sit back, relax, and enjoy the blog.

Until next time,

Martina
